Mr. prefect,
Given the objective of the Prime Minister, Mr. Édouard Philippe, in his interdepartmental plan to fight hatred on the Internet and to educate against prejudice and stereotypes because of “attitudes, cowardly, serious, and degrading, (which) injure victims and their relatives, (and that) the fight against this scourge is a moral and political imperative.
Because we do not build a safe, peaceful, solidarity-based society on the hatred of the other “, and in accordance with our statutes (Advocacy organization fighting against anti-Muslim racism), we alert you to the remarks of Mr. Guillaume Tabard, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Le Figaro, following the attacks on the mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand (50 deaths including children, and more than 48 serious injuries).
Mr Guillaume Tabard, who on March 15, 2019, was a guest of LCI’s on the 24H program Pujadas, said during a time-slot with a large audience: “In France we have lived through quite deadly Islamic terrorism. If we want to play the counting game, the scales are not yet balanced. We must not venture into the field of the return volley. ”

This editorial writer, without being contradicted, compares in a macabre account the number of Muslim victims of the attacks of Christchurch in New Zealand targeted by the islamophobic terrorist to the number of victims of the jihadist attacks in France, even as Muslims are among the victims of the attacks in France.
With this statement, he equates the Muslim victims of the Christchurch bombing, and through them all the Muslims, to the perpetrators of Islamist attacks. He slanders the Muslims and instills with respect to them a sense of rejection and animosity towards them.
This contemptible equation released across social networks by LCI incites hatred toward Muslims, fuels identity propaganda in France by undermining the gravity of racist acts and killings against them, and, worse still, glorifies terrorism and incites the crime.
The ADM Association and its President therefore asks you within the framework of your power so that you engage the necessary procedures at the Paris public prosecutor’s Office, the anti-terrorism section, as well as the Audiovisual Council and the Commission of Journalist’s press cards, because of this manifest violation of the Munich code of ethics, adopted by the European Federation of Journalism, concerning the ethics of journalism.
We are convinced of your will, as well as that of the administrations of public office and the corps of inspections, that such statements cannot no longer be held publicly.
